Wu Hongchun, male, born in March 1964, is the professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University, the member of the Sixth and Seventh State Council Discipline Review Panels, the recipient of the State Council Special Allowance, the expert of the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the chief expert of the "863" project, and the director of the Chinese Nuclear Society. He is the member of the Academic Committee of the National Key Laboratory of Reactor System Design and Key Technology. He has presided over nearly 10 major national research projects, such as the "973" project, the "863" project, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, nuclear energy development projects, and more than 100 projects entrusted by enterprises. He has published more than 100 SCI papers and authorized 65 national invention patents and more than 30 software copyrights. As the first completer, he received the Second Class Prize of National Technical Invention Award in 2019 (first), as well as the Third Class Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award (third), the Second Class Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award (fourth), and over ten provincial and ministerial teaching and research awards. In 2004, he established the Nuclear Engineering Computational Physics Laboratory and led his team to pioneer and innovate, reaching the international advanced level in the field of high-fidelity reactor physics analysis methods and advanced neutron transport calculation techniques. He has made important contributions to the development of young talents in Chinese nuclear engineering. His current research interests include neutron transport equation calculation methods, reactor physical analysis, reactor fuel management, nuclear waste transmutation disposal, nuclear design software development, etc.
